@bob and @chris - wow, not sure where the negativity stems from. I don't think Denny has ever claimed to have invented the technique - he just gave new brewers some really easy instructions that made all-grain seem possible. A lot of people (including myself) who thought AG was too hard or expensive took the plunge thanks to Denny promoting the technique. What's next, are you going to slam Palmer for just "putting some words on some pieces of paper"??

I do agree this can be done with all the parameters you described (low OG, styles best enjoyed when young, etc.)...

Christopher - you have to be careful with the extract, as it's really easy to add too much. I'd say 1, maybe 2 ounces for a five gallon batch should be plenty. Remember, you can always add more, but can't take it out if you add too much! You can experiment a little by buying a commercial beer and adding a few drops of the extract to it to see how much flavor it imparts. I've even heard of people adding the extract right before drinking, on a per bottle or per glass basis! That's kind of a cool idea, since you can try different flavors without committing the entire batch. Let me know how the beer turns out!!

Hey, nice looking beer you got there. I'm making my first attempt at cloning this beer. If I want to use blueberry extract, how much do you suggest? I can't wait!
